Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) would like to invite bloggers and media to attend a media briefing on the new ticketing system for LRT and Monorail. Please contact the Corporate Communications Department for registration not later than 13 June 2011 through email (Pn Hawa Hanafiah at hawa@prasarana.com.my) or call 019-2145334.
Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) is a wholly-owned Government company established by the Ministry of Finance, set up to facilitate, undertake and expedite public infrastructure projects approved by the Government. Prasarana and its group of companies are also asset-owners and operators of several public transport providers, namely the Ampang and Kelana Jaya lines, KL Monorail system, bus operations in Klang Valley and Penang, as well as the cable car services in Langkawi.
TRANSIT Says:
As above, if you are interested in attending please contact Hawa at the email address above.
Look for our early comments on the new ticketing system soon. Please note that we will complain about why it took so long – but it’s not actually Prasarana’s fault so don’t blame them.

I have seen the new gate few weeks back, it still retain the touch & go function at all gate but the old card style ticket replace with token, like the one in seoul and bangkok. I can forward you the pic if u want hehehe
@Cairel
Thanks for the update. Please let us have the photo or link it here (or both).
We heard about the proposal to use the “chipcoin” (the token that you refer to) back in 2009 but never got any update.
Regards, Moaz for TRANSIT
The gate still under testing. Those blogger interested pls contact hawa@prasarana.com.my.
The Agenda:
– Technical Briefing
– Demo of New Gate
@Hawa
Thank you for the update.
By the way, we hope that you would be able to email a copy of the technical briefing to us so that we can post it to the TRANSIT site (perhaps after the demo) for all those who cannot attend the demo.
And in the meantime perhaps you can share some of the features of the new integrated system? For example, @Cairel believes that the system will use the RFID “chipcoin” (found in Bangkok’s Metro and in Seoul – as well as at KLIA parking).

Touch ‘N’ Go is really SUCKS and want to make me SICK AND PUKE!!! After it’s involvements in all kinds of government controversy in the 1990’s and received literally TONNES of complaints from the public and users, we are still hardly see any GREAT and OBVIOUS IMPROVEMENTS. Until now my friends told me that they still face the “sensor” problems at many lrt/monorail and ktm komuter gates. Improvements and changed for the betterment will not happen if the GOVERNMENT BLINDLY SUPPORT A SO CALLED LOCAL COMPANY UNDER THE NAME OF PATRIOTISM WILL NOT IMPROVE THE SITUATIONS!!! WE MUST GET RID OF TOUCH ‘N’ GO once and for ALL and find a MUCH MUCH better replacement to this idiotic and EXPENSIVE USELESS TICKETING OR VALUE STORAGE CARD!!! It creates nothing but tonnes of PAIN AND DISSATISFACTION and OBVIOUSLY Touch ‘N’ Go is ANOTHER CLOSE CRONY COMPANY OF THE GOVERNMENT!!! Malaysia Boleh!!! Kronisma dan Rasuah jauh-jauh lebih/lagi BOLEH!!!
None would disagree that Jeffrey is the world’s biggest public transport basher.
are you both still on this ? How about some real effective discussion instead of flaming each other?
This is the last warning to both of you – TRANSIT (your host at this website) will take appropriate action if this continues.
Regards, Moaz for TRANSIT
