Public Transport in Haiti

TRANSIT took note of this very interesting video documentary about ‘Tap-Taps” which are the Haitian versions of ‘Minibus’ / Ang-kot / Sam-lor / ‘Tuk-Tuk’ / ‘Jeepney’ services – small, privately-operated (and usually colourful) vehicles offering local public transport service over short distances.

Only 3% of the Haitian population own cars so for vast numbers of people the ‘Tap-Taps’ are the only way to travel longer distances.

TRANSIT hopes that you find the video documentary interesting.
