Poor Puchong folk face hardship in travelling for treatment

Selangor MCA Youth chief Dr Kow Cheong Wei, who is the former Kinrara assemblyman, said he had called the Health Minister’s secretary requesting for a letter to the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) asking it to re-issue bus permits for the Puchong-Serdang route. According to Kow, the CVLB had in 2005 issued permits for buses to ply the Puchong, Putrajaya and Kajang routes but RapidKL had not launched any service for these routes since then. “I’m also asking for alternatives like a mini-bus service as this will be adequate to meet the transport need of patients,” Kow said. “I hope the problem will be speedily resolved so that the Puchong folk will have the public transport to go for medical treatment,” he said.

Sigh…TRANSIT would love to hear RapidKL comment on this so I can see their side of the story. TRANSIT does recall that RapidKL has cancelled a lot of feeder bus services in Puchong and Seri Kembangan over the past 2 years.
Meanwhile, RapidKL confirmed that there is currently no direct bus service between Puchong and the Serdang hospital, and that passengers will need to take Bus U60 from Puchong Utama to Pasar Seni, then change to Bus U41 for a trip to the Serdang KTM station, and from there, take Bus U42 to the hospital.
TRANSIT says:
Read that carefully…in order to get from Puchong to Serdang, one must travel TO KL, wait for another bus, travel to Serdang, wait for another bus, and hopefully get to the hospital.
And they wonder why people do not want to use the RapidKL service.
Ironically, RapidKL originally did plan a bus from Puchong to the Bukit Jalil LRT station … but that service never appeared.
TRANSIT long ago suggested that RapidKL that bus service as an “extension” of the LRT line to Puchong … but it seems that RapidKL is not interested.
