Getting to Cap Square – Is half an effort better than no effort?

Cap Squre is the new “wine & dine” “place to be” in KL.  It is located in a relatively overlooked area of KL, between the old city and the new city (KLCC).

As you can see from the maps (see links below), CapSquare is a very “urban place” located to the east of the Masjid India area, and west of KLCC. It is on one side of the Klang river and is defined by a triangle of major roads – Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, and Jalan Ampang.

CapSquare is also located within a “short” distance from the Masjid Jamek and Dang Wangi LRT stations on the Kelana Jaya LRT line (closer to Dang Wangi), as well as the Bukit Nanas and Medan Tunku stations on the KL Monorail line (roughly equal distances).

But you would not know that from the maps that the owners of CapSquare have “helpfully” posted to their website.

The “car” map shows road directions and a few poorly-placed dashed lines that might represent the LRT and monorail lines.  The monorail line (red) is in the wrong place … Even Bukit Nanas monorail station is, apparently not on the monorail line.  The line is also backwards – an arrow points to the left of the map in the direction of “KL Sentral” and to the right of the map in the direction of “Titiwangsa” and “Terminal Putra”

The other maps posted, including a bus network map, Monorail Map and LRT network map are simply copy pasted off the websites of RapidKL and KL Monorail … Cap Square’s people could not even bother to place a CapSquare logo on those maps to show people where it might be.

The message is clear – they want you to drive to Cap Square.

But if you prefer to take public transport – TRANSIT hopes this helps:

Dang Wangi is the closest LRT station to CapSquare.

ps. We would add their logo to the LRT network map for you and post it here … but that would be violating copyrights … and besides – the CapSquare people should be the ones to do it!

At the Jalan Ampang exit turn right and walk along Jalan Ampang. Cap Square will be 10 minutes away, on your right hand side, just after Jalan Raja Abdullah.

Regards, Moaz for TRANSIT
