TRANSIT took note of this information today, following an earlier indicator that the CVLB had brought back their complaints hotline and sms number.
We urge all public transport users to program the hotline and Mysms number into their phone with a prepared sms message.
Text LPKP ADUAN [Your Complaint] and send to 15888.
Sending information directly to the CVLB will give them info about poor driving, dangerous actions, violations of laws, pilferage, etc.
Public Transport users can also contact RapidKL’s hotline number, through twitter at MyRapidKL. We are trying to get RapidKL to register a mobile phone number for complaint calls & sms.
CVLB complaint system up again
Wednesday August 19, 2009
KUALA LUMPUR: The Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) has reactivated its hotline complaint system at 1-800-88-9600 and mySMS 15888.
The old system, via the same hotline number and SMS 39900, was scrapped in April following the abolition of the Entrepreneur and Cooperative Develop-ment Ministry.
The complaint system is not window dressing, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz.
According to the figures given by the minister, the percentage of complaints solved saw an increase in the last two years, with 58% of the 2,056 complaints lodged (to date) solved.
Reactivated: Nazri showing the hotline complaint number at the back of a cab, with Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong (third from left) and Halimah (second from left) looking on.
“It shows that the board has done its job in carrying out investigations on the complaints,” he said, adding that action was taken against vehicle owners who flouted the law.
“The majority of the unsolved cases are crank calls, or cases that fall under the jurisdiction of other departments like the Road Transport Department, the police and the Department of Environment.
“We need to change the people’s perception; hence we are reactivating the system,” he told a press conference after the relaunch at Puspakom Wangsa Maju yesterday.
