TRANSIT Says:

We hope that you enjoy the photos & video of the launching of the KTM 125 years celebration.

Now, we do not know how many different activities are being planned by KTM as part of their 125th celebration. Frankly, they already missed one thing, which was to designate 1 June (the actual anniversary) as KTM Day in Malaysia.

But we at TRANSIT are expecting some of the following activities that may take place over the next month or so:

  • Kembara Makhota in Johor – 26-28 June – the Johor Sultan will drive a KTM train from JB station to Gemas station and back;
  • Launching of ETS service – dates unknown but likely in July – The ETS service between Seremban & Ipoh will be launched (finally);
  • Launching of Sentul-Batu Caves extension – dates unknown but likely in July – the extension of Komuter services between Sentul & Batu Caves will be launched (finally);
  • Open day at KTMB workshops – dates unknown but likely in July – families will have the opportunity to visit the KTMB Workshops at Batu Gajah;
  • Closure of Johor Baru train station and launching of JB Sentral – dates unknown but likely 30th-31st July.

Of course, we will give you more details about these activities when they are confirmed and update the list as and when we get more information from KTMB.
