Update#1 – newly sworn-in Minister of Transport Kong Cho Ha will focus on urban public transport – see article below!
By now everyone knows that Kong Cho Ha (former Minister of Housing & Local Government) has replaced Ong Tee Keat as the Minister of Transport.

TRANSIT wishes to thank Ong Tee Keat for his time as Minister of Transport and his unwavering support of public transport improvements as part of the Urban Public Transport NKRA.
Despite some missteps, such as the proposal to purchase used DMUs (at inflated prices), TRANSIT acknowledges that Ong Tee Keat may have been the most vocal and consistent champion for improved public transport in the Malaysian government.
We at TRANSIT can only hope that the new Minister, Kong Cho Ha, can meet the expectations of the public and champion improvements to public transport in Malaysia.
We wish him the best of luck in his new position, and we wish Ong Tee Keat the best of luck in his future endeavours.

In one of his first interviews, newly-sworn in Minister of Transport Kong Cho Ha has stated that his priority is urban public transport, not the Port Klang Free Zone scandal.
(The Star) – There is no need for a further re-look into the Port Klang Free Zone controversy as there have been sufficient investigations and studies into the matter, said newly-appointed Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha.
He said, however, he would take the time to understand and learn all about the highly-publicised scandal when he holds meetings with the various department heads for a briefing on their duties, operations and projects.
“My main focus will be on improving urban public transport as listed in the National Key Result Areas announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak,” he told a press conference after the ceremony where his predecessor Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat handed over duties to him.

As happy as we are to hear that the Minister will focus on urban public transport, we are disappointed to note that there will be no further effort to find and prosecute those responsible for the Port Klang Free Zone scandal.
